My work is inspired by nature as well as non-western rituals and traditions. I prefer to use simple materials that can defy expectations as the materials are transformed to create their own world, where the viewer is the visitor.
The indoor installations seek to defy expectations of rigid architecture and engage the viewer to enter the boundaries of a new landscape. Through materials and implied movement the viewer is encouraged to see their world with new potential.
Though temporary outdoor installations I search for methods that enable communities to re-establish a relationship with nature in their neighborhood. The process of temporarily concealing, transforming and revealing common elements promotes discussion and awareness of the local environment.
