My approach—no matter the medium—is to find the unexpected beauty, movement and textures that capture the viewer's imagination. I experiment with materials, repetition and scale, combined with interests in non-Western traditions. Gardening in my little haven in Brooklyn helps me develop concepts that derive from nature, but that, ultimately, challenge our personal expectations.
For me, challenging expectations isn’t about instigation, but rather, a way to help the audience to see things with new eyes. It’s a way to plant a little bit of curiosity; a questioning of the everyday. Ultimately, it’s about asking "what if..?".
